This 2-cr, 2-week course is a follow-on to a Remote Sensing and/or GIS course. We will focus on field methods and associated analyses that are typical in using and applying imagery and other spatial data. We will use a variety of remote sensing imagery, maps, field data collection tools and analysis and mapping software. Students will do active learning in the field and lab through multiple individual, small-group, and class exercises led by SEAS and UMBS instructors and staff.
Room and board at the UMBS is offered at no cost to the student for this course. Returning students may enroll in the course under their regular Fall credits/tuition and take this Spring short course May 6-18, 2018. Graduating students will enroll for Spring.
Prerequisites - By permission of instructor. Graduate or junior/senior standing; one full-semester course in Remote Sensing and/or GIS from the following: EAS 541, EAS 531, ENVIRON 403, EARTH 408, URP 520, 521 or equivalent. Contact kbergen@umich.edu for more information.
