In my very first semester, I took a course in cost-benefit analysis with the late Professor Bob Gregory. I was used to being the top of my class in my undergraduate classrooms, but suddenly, I was with students from all around the world and realized that virtually everyone in this class was smarter than I was. It was intimidating and exciting - and I realized that the University of Michigan was a whole new world.

Take all of the skills that you’re learning and figure out where you think you can make the largest impact in a field that you’re interested in. Jobs that are ill-defined are particularly exciting because you have the opportunity to define them! Don’t settle for a job if it pays better but won’t make you happy - we make decisions about what we do in life not based on logic but based on emotion.
