Great Lakes Regional Conservation Symposium
Nine speakers presented talks on an array of issues focusing on Great Lakes conservation issues and research including: The Nature Conservancy's conservation initiatives and research priorities; a critique of Michigan's forestry practices; the effects of logging and fragmentation on forest plants; using hydrology to understand riparian forests; mollusk conservation; and deer browsing effects. The symposium was sponsored by the University of Michigan Society for Conservation Biology and the Ecosystem Management Initiative.
