Amanda Barker
Environmental Policy and Planning

Amanda’s interest in sustainable public and community ecosystem management brought her to work with the Ecosystems Management Initiative at SNRE.  Her interests include public land conservation in the Intermountain West, directed there by her academic background in geology and work as an agricultural and parks volunteer with Peace Corps Madagascar.

Her current graduate studies in environmental policy focus on land management and conflict management issues.  Upon graduation, Amanda intends to utilize her Environmental Policy degree working in the Department of Interior or with a land trust organization, particularly focusing on the land use and change, as well as degradation and conservation of public lands in the West.
