EAS501.085 is a course that emphasizes the development of a critical process of thinking through making. This course will explore skills and workflow used to visualize and communicate design ideas. We will use representation as a quick, generative tool to investigate concepts, a rigorous analytical tool to test relationships, and as a polished, descriptive tool to explain our ideas to others. Weekly tutorials and assignments will cover a variety of 2D and 3D representation techniques, using physical and digital tools and materials. The following software will be utilized: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects), AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Rhino, Lumion, and Twinmotion. Additional tools may be utilized to extend the capabilities of the software. .
