In this course, students will engage in a range of learning activities, including, but not limited to: (1) conducting various personal assessments and activities to build self-awareness; (2) discussing and applying frameworks on how to build teams & collaboration (internally & externally); and, (3) examining tactics to promote organizational culture change in ways to advance equity and justice.  This unique course will include a mixture of flash talks (mini-lectures), role-play, partner work and reflection. We will use real-life experiences and challenges raised by the class, as our primary textbook; elevating learnings and potential solutions so students will acquire the skills to support their personal and professional transformation.  This course is designed for students from multiple disciplines and with various levels of professional experience (e.g., starting their first internship, engaged in a capstone project with an external partner, beginning a new job).  This course will give students practical skills and a personal development plan that will lead to greater confidence, improved job performance, increased career advancement, enhanced internal advocacy skills, better resilience, and the ability to adapt to the ever changing professional environments.  

There are no prerequisites for this course.  This mini-course will be held over four 1.5-hour sessions (Oct. 5th & 7th and Oct. 12th & 14th). Students can enroll in either EAS 501.001 or EAS 501.002, but not both; these sessions will cover the same content.
