EAS 501.016 - Applied Energy Justice
Building on the foundations of Dr. Reames’ energy justice course (EAS 525), this lab-style course will engage teams of students in tackling some of the most urgent energy justice challenges in collaboration with leading non-profit and public sector institutions. Moving beyond theory and principles, the central focus of this course is advocating and advancing energy justice in the face of barriers and opposition. Students will learn to navigate political, financial, and regulatory constraints and consider tradeoffs between transformative approaches and incremental progress.
Students are expected to have substantial knowledge of environmental justice and the U.S. energy system via coursework (i.e., EAS 525, 527, 574) and/or professional experience.
