EAS 501.227 - Economic Approaches to Environment and Development
Description
Reducing global poverty and protecting the environment—including addressing climate change—are among the most urgent challenges facing our world today. These issues are also closely linked. Environmental problems, like climate change and pollution, can slow or reverse progress in health, education, and economic well-being. At the same time, the way countries develop economically can worsen environmental problems or help to solve them. This course explores the relationships between economic development and the environment through real-world examples, drawing on conceptual frameworks from development and environmental economics.
