EAS 677.080 - Social Nature of Pro-Environmental Action
Description
This seminar explores readings and theories that considers how pro-environmental action is an explicitly social phenomenon. We will consider the roles of social influence, social support, social identity, social norms, collective efficacy, self-presentation concerns, theories of activism and social movements, power and social status, and other social literatures to explore how pro-environmental action is promoted or discouraged at various levels, including consumers, citizens, and institutions.
