Studio 688 Site Planning and Design by Meng Jia

Project Description

Site Planning and Design Studio: A semester-long site planning project that integrates and deepens design and technical knowledge from previous LA courses in a complete design process from proposal to specifications.

Student Individual Project: For this project, I will explore the concept of infill design on a brownfield site within the Ann Arbor metropolitan area. On the site of the current Tyner's Furniture building, the Taco Bell, and the site of the Motel 6 (all located at the corner of State St. and Ellsworth St., south of 1-94), I am being asked to design a mixed-use

a community that will serve as the hub in a new experiment for Washtenaw County/Pittsfield Township. The design takes into account the natural environmental conditions and future development needs of the site and uses environmental strategies such as stormwater management, green energy saving, and comfortable and livable, dynamic office and other spaces. Promote the sustainable development of this mixed-use, and at the same time promote the common development of the surrounding areas as an opportunity. Create a vision of symbiosis and prosperity.
