<p>Working as a research assistant in Dr. Dorceta Taylor’s MELDI research lab, helping pull off the 2007 National Environmental Justice Research Symposium. It was my first exposure to experts within the environmental justice field and an important foundational moment in my environmental justice career.</p>

<p>The experiences that you have outside of the classroom are very important in preparing you for life after graduation. Use your time at university to hone your leadership skills by taking part in the many extracurricular opportunities U-M has to offer.</p>
