GET INVOLVED!

As environmental leaders, alumni like you can provide invaluable guidance for our students and our school. However you choose to be involved, you can make an impact by launching a career, forging a new connection, or inspiring the next generation of sustainability professionals.

Looking to engage more with fellow alumni in a social or educational capacity? We are always looking for assistance organizing regional events and for partners to contribute to our Alumni Education Initiatives. Here’s more on how you can help further our mission at SEAS:

EMPLOYER OPPORTUNITIES

Career Fairs & On-Campus Recruiting

Meet high-achieving students seeking internships and employment opportunities who are interested in learning about your company through our virtual and on-campus career fairs each February! Email our Employer Relations Manager, Alyssa Krieger at [email protected] to be a featured employer.

Master’s Projects

We invite your company or organization to submit ideas for a 12-15 month interdisciplinary group project. Working closely with a faculty member, students will assess, analyze and propose solutions to a sustainability challenge or opportunity facing your organization.

Share Job and Internship Opportunities

Inform us about job and internship opportunities at your organization. These experiences are crucial in shaping successful career paths for our students.

STUDENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

Alumni Panels for each SEAS Specialization

Throughout the academic year, we are routinely looking for alumni from all degree specializations to participate in panel discussions with our current students, virtually or in-person. Students are eager to learn more about how you acquired your job, and hear more about the skills needed to succeed in your field. Email [email protected] to participate.

Career Trek

In 2024, the Career Trek will head to Washington D.C. for October 14-15. This annual, two-day event is an enriching experience in which a group of roughly 20 graduate students travel to a rotating city for hands-on networking and professional development activities with SEAS alumni, including panels, roundtable discussions, and one-on-one meetings. Details for the 2025 Career Trek will be determined in summer 2025.

Are you based in the Washington D.C. area and interested in helping with this formative event? Email our Employer Relations Manager, Alyssa Krieger at [email protected].

STUDENT MENTORSHIP

Formal Mentorship Program

The SEAS formal mentorship program was initially launched by the Dean's External Advisory Board, and has expanded to include other alumni interested in coaching and helping students with career goals, job searching, and professional development. The program runs from October through April each year and is a rewarding experience for both individuals. Click the link to learn more and for further questions, email [email protected].

Alumni + Student Virtual Coffee Chat Program

Taking place annually in February and March! Share your knowledge through virtual coffee chats by answering career-related questions in an informal, one-one-one setting with a student. Registration for our 2024 program is now closed. Stay tuned for invitations to participate in the next round in February 2025!

Landscape Architecture Portfolio Review Program

The LA Alumni Review Portfolio program pairs current students with a SEAS LA alum for a mentorship opportunity that is focused on offering invaluable guidance and feedback for improving their current portfolio. Intersted? Click the link above for an alumni reviewer guide and to submit an interest form!

Fall Program: September 30, 2025 - December 9, 2025
Winter Program:  January 13, 2026 - April 25, 2026

ALUMNI SOCIAL EVENTS AND ALUMNI EDUCATION

Help Organize Regional Alumni Socials

Interested in helping host a SEAS alumni happy hour or social event in your city? The Alumni Relations office routinely hosts events in Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, Montana, and other alumni hubs, and we are always looking for help organizing. Please contact Matt Kasten, Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Relations, for more info: [email protected].

Alumni Master Chats and Other Alumni Education Initiatives

SEAS aims to provide lifelong learning and alumni education programs to our community. These programs are digital and provide opportunities to invest in your personal growth long after your graduation.

Our virtual Alumni Master Chat program features events in the fall and winter and provides an informal setting for an alum to share their knowledge and insights about a particular topic (environmentally related or otherwise) with fellow alumni. We are also interested in other ways you might be interested in collaborating on educational opportunites outside the classroom at SEAS, such as workshops, online courses, and more. If interested, please complete this survey or send a direct message to Julien Depauw, Director of Online Learning & Academic Innovations, at [email protected].

STUDENT RECRUITMENT

Speak at Information Sessions and Webinars

Connect with Prospective Students
Be a resource for prospective students interested in your field of expertise. The SEAS Admissions team will connect students pursuing specializations in your career field with you and help set up short, informal virtual meetings where students can learn about your industry and ask questions about post-graduate life and beyond. Email us at [email protected] to get started.

JOIN THE STRATEGIC ALUMNI NETWORK

Members of this group are the first to be contacted to engage with the school through initiatives like our formal mentorship program, alumni education offerings, fundraising volunteer opportunities, and much more. It is up to members how they would like to engage, and all alumni are welcome to join!

If you are interested in active involvement with the school and wish to help us develop a stronger and more connected SEAS and PitE community, please don’t hesitate to send the Development and Alumni Relations team a message at [email protected], or click here to complete an interest form.
