Dana Building’s 120th Birthday Party
SEAS has been housed in the Samuel Trask Dana Building on the Diag, in the heart of Central Campus, since 1961. The building itself is a state-of-the-art example of reuse, having undergone green renovations utilizing materials made of recycled content or manufactured from renewable resources. The Dana Building was the first on campus to have solar panels and the first academic building in Michigan to earn LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2005.
This historical building that SEAS calls home has allowed students, faculty and staff to come together to work toward a common goal of creating a more sustainable and just future for all, advancing action through innovation, research, education and engagement in society.
We invite you to join us in celebrating our building's milestone. We'll meet in the first-floor commons on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Please stop by for cake and treats, to mingle, and to take a personal tour of Dana with Sucila Fernandes, the building's facilities manager. The building tour will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m.
Hope to see you there!
