In this presentation, Prof. Porras (LUT University, Finland) will look at the IT sector and current activities in Europe, especially in Finland, to minimize the carbon footprint of the IT sector. Prof. Porras will discuss the Finnish environmental and climate strategy of the IT sector and how it has affected the carbon emissions of the domain. He will also cover the European CSRD directive for carbon emission reporting. The presentation will emphasize software and software development as a critical aspect in decarbonization activities.
