- More than twenty leading Midwestern higher education institutions, non-profits, and local governments are partnering with the goal to develop a coordinated Midwestern response to the climate crisis.
- The Midwest Climate Summit aims to expand knowledge about climate impacts and solutions in the Midwest, catalyze new partnerships that deepen Midwestern expertise, and accelerate cross-sector climate action.
- The Midwest Climate Summit will take place in two parts—Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. The first part of the Midwest Climate Summit will be a virtual series of five events – the Think Tank – that will build partnerships, expand engagement, and focus efforts for accelerating climate action in the Midwest.
- The Think Tank Kick-Off begins Friday, October 2, 10:00am-12:30pm Central with a high-profile event featuring keynote speaker Dr. Robert Bullard, the internationally-renowned, award-winning environmental researcher, scholar and author. The Kick-Off concludes with a moderated panel with all of the featured speakers.
- Four additional Think Tank sessions will take place October 9, October 23, November 6, and November 20. There will be four workshop tracks across all four focusing on climate action, science and research, teaching and education, and outreach and engagement.
