Bierbaum elected to American Philosophical Society
Rosina Bierbaum, professor and dean emerita at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, was elected to the American Philosophical Society (APS) in its biological sciences class. Election to the Society honors extraordinary accomplishments in all fields.
Bierbaum focuses her research on the interface of science and policy—principally on issues related to climate change adaptation and mitigation at the national and international levels. She holds appointments in U-M's School of Public Health and in the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.
According to its website, the APS is unusual among learned societies because its membership is composed of top scholars from a wide variety of academic disciplines.
