University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) alumnae Stephanie Judd (MS/MBA ’13) and Kara Davidson (MS/ MBA ’13) founded Wolf & Heron in 2016 to help leaders create change through more effective communication. At the annual SEAS Career Trek, held in Denver, Colorado, in Fall 2022, Judd shared a few of her thoughts and experiences on camera.

“What we fundamentally do is teach the tools and skills of influence, and the dominant thrust of that is storytelling,” said Judd, who pursued Environmental Policy and Planning at SEAS and was a Ross Fellow at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. “So, I go out into the world and teach people how to tell stories to change hearts and minds.”

Wolf & Heron works with clients across multiple sectors, and values a special connection with environmental organizations and corporate internal sustainability teams. Judd related that she and Davidson care deeply about climate change, racial justice, and education for women, and support nonprofits involved in those efforts.

The SEAS Career Trek is an annual event—held in cities across the country—designed to give students an opportunity to learn more about career pathways through moderated panels, roundtables and one-on-one meetings with alumni.
