Congratulations to SEAS alum Chingwen Cheng, who is the new president-elect of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA)! Cheng, who graduated from SEAS with a master's in landscape architecture in 2001, is a professor of landscape architecture, urban design, and environmental design and senior sustainability scientist at The Design School at Arizona State University.

The retiring CELA president, Sadık Artunç, is also a SEAS alum. He received his master's in landscape architecture in 1979 and is currently a professor of landscape architecture at Mississippi State University.

SEAS is one of 88 CELA member schools. CELA's mission is to encourage, support, and further education in the field of landscape architecture, specifically related to teaching, research, scholarship, and public service.
