Transit Oriented Development in Detroit (2010)

Project Description

The master's project team produced a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan with a focus on environmental sustainability for the Woodward Light Rail project in Detroit, MI. The plan includes traditional TOD recommendations such as zoning, parking, pedestrian and bicycle pathways, and streetscape design. The team also added an environmental sustainability component, titled "Sustainable Transit Oriented Development" (STOD). The sustainable elements are tailored for Detroit and focus on water quality, land use, and energy.
