About

I am a Postdoc Research Fellow at the University of Michigan- School for Environment and Sustainability. My research specialization encompasses the field of water resources engineering, with a specific focus on hydrodynamic modeling, remote sensing, and AI/ML applications. My current research focuses on advancing the understanding of interannual variability and extreme events in the ice cover and thermal structure of the Great Lakes, both historically and under future climate scenarios using physics-based and data-driven methods.

Research

My PhD research revolves around enhancing coastal resilience within the Great Lakes region, addressing three primary objectives:

1- Quantifying shoreline changes through the analysis of high-resolution satellite imagery.

2- Developing a shoreline change model tailored for areas experiencing significant water level fluctuations.

3- Leveraging machine learning techniques to predict the Great Lakes hydrodynamic conditions (e.g., Waves and Ice).

Education
  • PhD, Purdue University
    • Major 1: Hydraulics and Hydrology Engineering
    • Major 2 Computational Engineering
    • Post Graduate Certificate: Geospatial Information Sciences
  • MS, Cairo University (Irrigation and Hydraulics Engineering)
  • BS, Cairo University (Civil Engineering)
