Jessica Michel
About
Jessica Ostrow Michel is an Adjunct Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan. At SEAS, she works with Dr. Michaela Zint as Co-PI of the research project entitled Innovative Pedagogies for Cultivating Leadership Amidst the Climate Change Crisis. Michel’s research, which has been published in journals like Sustainability Science, Sustainability, and Research in Higher Education, and presented at conferences like the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), and the American Educational Research Association (AERA), focuses on students' sustainability and environmental justice learning experiences. Michel received her Doctor of Education, Master of Education, and Master of Arts in the Higher and Postsecondary Education Program in the Organization and Leadership Department at Teachers College, Columbia University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal/Intercultural Communication and Spanish from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz.
