This course uses a political economy lens to review and understand different agrifood systems worldwide, how they got to where they are, what drives them, and what's needed to improve their outcomes. We examine several critical agrifood systems and evaluate them using a set of sustainability metrics. We review recent research advances and discuss the transformation of the agrifood system.
