Description
Transport is now the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. Transport-related particulate matter and ozone cause roughly 20,000 premature deaths in the U.S. and many times that number in India and China. At the same time, personal and freight transport are essential for access to work and leisure and for economic vitality. In this course, you will learn techniques to estimate the energy use and pollution from passenger cars, heavy trucks, rail, aviation, and ocean shipping. You will learn about the technologies and policies that might help reduce greenhouse gas and other pollution from each of these modes of transport.
