EAS 586.002 - Place & Environment Design Studio
This course introduces you to a suite of socio-environmental functions for ecological design and planning. You will learn how to analyze the sites of design and planning interventions for their opportunities and constraints for ecological design, and how to assess designs and plans for their potential socio-environmental performance. For analysis and assessment, we will draw on data and knowledge from watershed management, landscape architecture, landscape planning, landscape ecology, geomorphology and soil science, climatology, human geography, and public health. You also will learn how to find evidence from these fields to support your future work. Both this studio and EAS 587. Ecological Design: Making Place, will focus on the same site.
