EAS 787.002 - Metro Dynamic Studio
This course focuses on broad issues of a developing metropolitan region. The format provides the opportunity to investigate comprehensive, individual and team-based design solutions starting at the regional scale, down to masterplanning scale, and finally at the site scale where you will identify a catalyst project to further explore in Winter term. This course explicitly challenges students to creatively shift across scales, across ecological and anthropomorphic systems, and among cultural and ecological variables. It synthesizes the skills and knowledge offered at SEAS to allow students to have a comprehensive design + design thinking experience. The course helps students expand their own process, while refining all levels of communication skills, including visualization, oral
presentations, modeling, mapping, and written narrative. The theme of this year’s studio is THE HOW AND NOW OF ENVISIONING RESILIENCY. Our work will support the Envision Resilience Challenge, a partnership of Universities and individuals affiliated with the nonprofit Remain.
FALL B will focus primarily on advancing your design work, identifying and leaning in to the message you are trying to convey and then pitching it to a larger audience.
