As a principal advisor for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory managed by Battelle, Roger Anderson tackled pressing problems in the environment and energy fields. He achieved success in developing and managing energy and environmental projects for governments and industry in the United States and overseas, including extensive negotiations and management interactions with host country partners and officials.

Anderson has consulted on a wide range of topics, from nuclear science and technology in Australia; to commercialization strategies for public health institutes in the nation of Georgia; and strategic remote sensing collaborations among universities and national labs in the United States. He also completed a five-year residency as Director of Strategic Business Development for the United Kingdom’s National Nuclear Laboratory.

When he retired in 2016 after nearly 30 years at the laboratory, Anderson knew he had more to give to the environment at large. So, he wasted no time in co-founding Intersect Insight, a consulting group seeking to help countries and enterprises around the world with  strategic and tactical best practices in sustaining institutions – such as strategic partnering, stakeholder engagement, and tech-based economic development -methods proven effective throughout Anderson’s long career.

Through Intersect Insight, Anderson hopes to not only promote and emphasize the growth of sustainable businesses in the international economy, but additionally work with businesses to innovate and deliver value in a sustainable manner that promotes the overall development of their local communities and areas of impact.

As a member of the SEAS External Advisory Board, Anderson’s expertise and dedication to global enterprise sustainability helps shape the school and prepare our students to meet future challenges.
