Evaluating Contributions to DEI: A systemic review of the literature and recommendations for the SEAS community

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program at the University of Michigan has made significant strides over the past five years. As we gear up towards the next five year DEI strategic plan, it's imperative for faculty, staff and students to better understand key questions related to DEI. In this seminar, MS student Hannah Paulson and SEAS faculty member Prof. Jose Alfaro interrogates the question of how we evaluate an individual's or group's commitment and contribution to DEI, through a meta analysis of the existing literature. What obstacles remain for DEI at the unit level? What are the discrepancies in existing evaluative criteria. Join us for what promises to be a thought provoking discussion.
