Please join SEAS Guest Lecturer, Dr. Fouad Jaber as he shares his expertise in Green Infrastructure for Flood Resilience:
An Approach to Increase Institutional Adoption with Community Involvement.

Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) has traditionally focused on improving water quality, but recent studies have also demonstrated its potential as a cost-effective flood reduction tool. Despite growing scientific evidence, widespread municipal adoption remains limited by challenges in cost estimation, maintenance planning, and community involvement. This talk will explore strategies to increase GSI adoption through drainage network modeling, integration into hazard mitigation plans, green asset management, and community engagement in GSI selection and monitoring. It will also highlight collaborative approaches that support the scalability and transferability of GSI practices across communities.
