About the Urban Sustainability and Justice Faculty and Community Fellows Program

The Urban Sustainability and Justice Faculty and Community Fellows Program, launched by the SEAS Sustainability Clinic in January 2025, invites one academic scholar from an external college or university and one local community leader to collaborate on community-based climate solutions in Ann Arbor and Detroit. Both fellows spend a portion of the semester in residence in Ann Arbor and Detroit, sharing insights and engaging with U-M’s and Detroit’s multidisciplinary and multisectoral communities, hosting public lectures, and meeting with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to advance urban sustainability and community-based climate action.
