How do you protect yourself when fire, smoke and heat combine?

A new research partnership is working to help protect communities in the Pacific Northwest from the combined impacts of wildfires, smoke and extreme heat. Of particular focus are those from sensitive populations, including those who are older, pregnant, have chronic illnesses and who work outdoors.
With support from NASA, a team of researchers from the University of Michigan is working in partnership with collaborators in the Oregon Health Authority, University of Oregon and University of Wyoming. The U-M team includes School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) Associate Professor Paige Fischer.
