Kyla (she/they) is from Teejop on Ho-Chunk land, also known as Madison, WI. Her organizing and scholarship centers energy justice that focuses on community priorities and challenges the current energy system. Kyla has used her scholar-activism in utility rate cases and in their roles at energy justice centered organizations. At SEAS, Kyla is focusing their research on community control of energy systems and energy democracy.
