Studio 590 (b) Ecological Site Design by Qiutong GE

Project Description

Ecological Site Studio: Ecological design has to meet nature’s needs as well as human satisfaction to be successful and sustainable over the long term. This studio introduces a design approach that focuses on how to use aesthetics to support the wellbeing of humans in tandem with healthy environmental goals. The course extends the platform of evidence-based design to include theory and applications from the fields of environmental psychology and aesthetics. You will learn about the power or experiential site analysis and use of the human scale and sensory experience to create greater spatial and sensory fluency in your designs. Investigative assignments, pin-upsand discussion will precede the focal project, a wellbeing design for a re-purposed public space.
