Students have the opportunity to participate in an exciting interdisciplinary master's capstone project with members of their cohort. This dynamic model was the first of its kind in the nation. Today, these client-based projects continue to have a real impact and teach invaluable applied skills to the teams involved. The experiential learning-focused master's project is the standard capstone experience for our students. However, some SEAS students obtain approval for alternative options such as a thesis.
SEAS students can take courses across the University of Michigan's multitude of graduate programs. Many SEAS students take advantage of U-M's other programs and interdisciplinary resources to pursue a graduate certificate. Certificate programs enable students to hone a specialized skill set in addition to the regular master's degree program of study.
