Smith authors book on climate change in law schools
March 18, 2024

University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability Lecturer Kimberly Smith has authored a book, “Making Climate Lawyers: Climate Change in American Law Schools, 1985-2020” (University Press of Kansas, 2024). The book explores “how American environmental law professors have addressed climate change, identifying the barriers they faced, how they overcame them, and how they created ‘climate law’ as a domain of legal specialization.”

Smith is a political scientist who studies environmental ethics, policy, and law.
