Kristen is an evolutionary biologist focused on speciation and the evolution of sex chromosomes in fishes.
Kristen's research at CIGLR is focused on ciscoes, a critical prey fish in the Great Lakes. Using genomics techniques, she will investigate the sex determination system in these fish and evaluate signatures of hybridization to inform conservation efforts for re-introduction of lost species.
