Boren Fellowship for International Study
Boren Fellowships are awarded to graduate students (either Master’s or PhD level) for the purpose of overseas language study, academic study, research, an academic internship, or any combination of the above, in the pursuit of supporting national security efforts. In addition, Boren Fellowships can provide limited funding for domestic language study that will supplement the overseas component. These awards can provide $8,000 to up to $30,000 in funding, depending on the length of your program. In exchange for financial support, Boren Scholars and Fellows commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation in a position with national security responsibilities.
Please note: National security subjects and federal government positions vary widely for this award, and are not restricted to military interpretations.
