The award funds one graduate student's field-based wetland research. It is open to any graduate student who is a US citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in a US-based institution, and pursuing a degree in coastal wetland sciences. $5000 annually to one graduate student in field-based wetlands research. This coastal wetlands focus is defined as those tidal or nontidal wetlands found within coastal states, including the Great Lakes.
