GSI - School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS)

Description

Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) at the University of Michigan are considered members of the community of scholars. GSIs contribute to our teaching enterprise by working as partners with the faculty members who develop and supervise course offerings. SEAS only accepts applications from current SEAS students who are in good academic standing. Students are encouraged to apply for positions in which they are qualified, both within SEAS as well as across campus (other departments will have other posting windows and processes). Appointments are made on a term-by-term basis and typically require between 9.5-20 hours of work per week.

The fall 2021 GSI application period has closed. All applicants will be notified of their application status in late March 2021.

Below are departments that typically hire SEAS students as GSI's:

Program in the Environment (PitE)

Anthropology

Astronomy

Organizational Studies

Earth & Environmental Sciences

Romance Languages & Literatures

Biology

Ecology & Biology

Afroamerican & African Studies
