Tamara Reeme Fellowship

Description

The Tamara Reeme Fellowship is for students whose educational focus aligns with the Behavior, Education, and Communication or Environmental Policy and Planning programs. This fellowship was made possible by a SEAS alumna with the goal to assist exceptional students in these fields of study.

Tamara Reeme is a 1983 BS alum who established the fellowship because she had such a wonderful experience at SEAS and is in a position to help students.

Eligibility: SEAS students from all degrees and fields of study are welcome to apply. The donor gives preference to BEC or EPP students.

Awards: There are two fellowships available:

  • Returning students may apply for (2) $15,000 (tuition-only award)
  • Graduating students may apply for (1) $2,500

Selection Criteria: Award recipients will have demonstrated a commitment to course and fieldwork while exemplifying characteristics needed to address current environmental issues.

SEAS Application Process: Submit your response to each question separately, numbered and in order. Attach your current CV and email your responses to the questions below to SEAS.Honors@umich.edu no later than 9:00 AM on Friday, March 3, 2023. Your responses to the questions must not exceed one double-sided page, single-spaced, 11-point font.

  • Current CV (on a separate page)
    1. What motivated you to pursue an environmentally-oriented education?
    2. What are your career aspirations after graduation? What do you hope to accomplish "in the world" with what you've learned through your educational pursuits?
    3. Please share a personal story, anecdote, or life experience that illustrates some of your most valued personality traits (e.g., creativity, sense of humor, emotional sensitivity, flexibility, problem-solving ability, etc.). Your answer should not duplicate the information above and does not necessarily have to be related to your environmental interests or professional accomplishments. Your response should illustrate who you are as a person, not necessarily as a student.
    4. Why do you think YOU should receive this scholarship?
