Clinic intern Keeton Bigham-Tsai (MS'26) worked with our client, Strategic Alliance Community Development Corporation (SACDC), a Detroit-based nonprofit organization and fiber optic service provider led by CEO Jason Dixon, focused on sustainable community development and expanding equitable access to broadband infrastructure through its “Route to a Smart City” initiative. The initiative aims to bring 1G fiber-to-home and 10G fiber-to-business internet services to underserved urban communities while supporting workforce development, digital literacy, and economic opportunity.
Through the Clinic, Keeton Bigham-Tsai collaborated with SACDC and Jason Dixon to support green workforce development, broadband expansion, smart city planning, and solar energy initiatives in Inkster, Michigan. The project included event coordination and communications support for community engagement efforts, research on funding and partnership opportunities, development of informational materials, and administrative support for SACDC programming. Additional work focused on strengthening university and community partnerships, supporting neighborhood outreach initiatives, and advancing SACDC’s long-term vision for sustainable infrastructure and equitable economic development in historically underserved communities.
