SEAS CAREER SERVICES RESOURCES
- FREE membership to Interstride, a support tool for all UM international students
- International Student specific resources and information to support your internship and job search including an International Student Reference Guide and a Cultural Considerations Guide
- Employment report with data on international student employment
- Resume and cover letter resources on the Google Site including specialization-specific resume templates
- Support to develop a job search plan since job placement upon graduation is not customary in the U.S.

ADDITIONAL TIPS
- OPT Extension Program: The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) and the Master of Science (MS) degree programs are both STEM-designated. Eligible F-1 students that receive STEM degrees may apply for a 24-month extension of their post-completion optional practical training (OPT). Check out the Department of Homeland Security website for more information!
- View your international background as an asset that equips you with valuable skills including cross-cultural communication skills, adaptability, cultural awareness etc.
- Seek career advice from second-year international students and international alumni in SEASNet
- Hone your English language skills through U-M programs like Conversation Circles (through U-M's English Language Institute (ELI) and community programs like the Ecumenical Center and International Residence)
- Emphasize the languages you speak on your resume
- Focus on global companies that have offices in the U.S. if your goal is to work abroad in the future
